Self-care is so important for your mental well-being and looking after yourself: physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.
The Mums from our Community wrote the ideas for this self-care challenge. We have handed out this poster to Mums in our community in a collaborative project with our Local Coop. To acts as either a challenge or ideas of what to do for self-care for themselves. It might also act as a little reminder too.
We’d love to hear if you use any of the ideas or complete the challenge too.

“After having my first child I lost a lot of confidence and my anxiety levels increased. Singing & Music has always been an important part of my life and Soul Singers formed as part of my journey of rediscovering who I was after leaving a long career in education. I love working with Mums and their children. The impact of singing is so positive and powerful. It is such a privilege to sing with Mums each week and I love seeing how lifelong relationships have been created through Soul Singers as well as how each Mums confidence improves”
Mary-Jane Saunders – Director of Soul Singers CIC

“I strongly believe that singing and music are good for the soul. After a long day, I am often to be found singing and enjoying a kitchen disco with my two daughters in our house in Bristol. My background is in psychology and education and I have always used music and sung with the children I work with. My experience has shown me how naturally and innately we all respond to music.”
Cath Sands – Director of Soul Singers CIC

“I am a humanistic counsellor in Eastbourne and specialise in mental health. I have a passion for working with people; especially with promoting positive mental wellbeing and working to reduce the stigma around mental health. I feel this is so important with everything that is going on in the world right now, it’s definitely ok not to be ok. I got involved with Soul Singers because I really believe in the ethos of supporting positive mental well-being through singing.”
Laura Lambert – Director of Soul Singers CIC

“I am a busy mum to 2 children and 1 dog. I love singing and have sung in choirs in the past but simply don’t have the time right now. I do sing around the house and in the car but usually get told off by my children for it. My dog doesn’t seem to mind!
I have recently realised that mental health is my passion and so am currently training to be an integrative counsellor. I am very excited to be involved in Soul Singers as I truly believe it has the power to make a positive impact on so many lives.”
